Pleasure

I like my guilty pleasure shows and ABC family comedies, but otherwise I’m not a huge TV person. However I’ve been finding new reasons to set the DVR this year thanks to some fashionable personalities gracing the small screen. The programs are easy to find thanks to increased channels and more shows from various direct tv packages. Cheers for to new specialty programs on TV. So out of the many shows out there, I’ve selected my top three that I plan on viewing this season. Two first are new programs that I’m giving a try, while the third is in its second season…because who doesn’t want to watch fashion crush Joe Zee on TV?

It’s A Brad Brad World (Bravo)

First up, here we watch the quirky and charming Brad Goreski (an LA stylist) expose some of the aspects of the fashion and styling business. Having formerly worked with renowned stylist Rachel Zoe, Goreski (with his partner Gary Janetti) is now trying to make it on his own in this competitive world, and viewers can watch the whole process. This is a perfect show for people who are interested in the industry, not just the fashion, but also for the personalities.

24 Hour Catwalk (Lifetime)

This show is a bit like Project Runway in that it focuses on judges and features Alexa Chung pitting contestants against each other to perform fashion and design-related challenges. This fierce version of a competitive fashion competition appears  to be a bit more intense than some of its predecessors, and has so far provided fans with plenty of entertainment, as well as very unique fashion displays.

All On The Line (Sundance)

This unique style program from Sundance puts a different spin on competitive design by utilizing the talents of established designers who could use new projects and challenges. Host Joe Zee challenges these designers to create new lines and products for specific celebrity guests, often forcing them to step beyond their normal boundaries to establish something new and innovative.

There you have it, my top three fashion picks for this season, so whether you’re interested in design yourself, or you’re an aspiring designer, or even if you are simply looking for the latest competitive reality show, these programs may be well worth looking into. If nothing else, they tend to provide quite a bit of entertainment, and in many cases they exemplify some real, “unique” talents.

Siestas, red wine, and beaches are usually what comes to mind when you think about Barcelona, Spain. However, after my recent vacay, I learned that stunning architecture is one of the city’s biggest draws. Actually, Spain is one of the most visited countries in all of the EU thanks to the weather and affordability. After my last short post, I wanted to share more of the elaborate buildings, including work by Gaudi.

JewelMint-y Favorites

by Ami on 11/11/2011

A big thank you to my pals over at JewelMint for featuring me in their editor series last month. If you haven’t already you can read the full interview here, where I talk about my favorite pieces and personal style. Besides, with the title of an “An Empress & Victorian Charmer All in One!” I’m personally pretty stoked about the feature. FYI…those are the names of the jewelry pieces I chose as favorites from their current collection. I styled the From the Heart Rings, a necklace from the Victorian Charmer Necklaces, and the Empress Necklace with some of my own jewelry and an outfit that’s fall friendly.

I’m also wearing a trench coat from 2B Bebe, H&M dress, and a gaggle of bracelets and accessories from India.
